MOULTRIE — Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church invites the community to Celebrate Mother’s Day at the 11 a.m. service Sunday May 10.  

Evangelist Rebecca Motley Ashford will be the guest speaker.  

Ashford is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willie G. Motley. She is a  native of Moultrie and serves in two capacities of the five-fold ministry: Evangelist and Teacher. 

Ashford is the president and founder of The Miracle of Healing Project, which is a CD that focuses on the healing virtue of God. 

She is a member of Spring Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Kathleen, Ga., where her husband, L.C. Ashford Jr., serves as senior pastor. 

Evangelist Ashford accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She became a licensed minister in 2003 and was ordained an evangelist in June 2011 under the leadership and guidance of Bishop John A. Moss, senior pastor of Faith Temple Ministries in Cochran, Ga. 

Ashford received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Troy University. She is currently employed as a senior human resource manager for Blue Bird Bus Company, Inc. 

She and Pastor Ashford have five sons, Darreck, Leonard III, Tyler, Lance and Jayden, and one daughter, Lexis.
