Funeral services will be Tuesday for a husband and wife from Moultrie who were killed Friday night in a Worth County accident.
David and Kandy Bius were riding in their Chevrolet Trailblazer north on Highway 133 Friday night, Worth County Coroner Johnny Johnson said, when a semi truck on Highway 112 ran the stop sign and collided with the SUV.
The semi driver has not been charged, Johnson said, but the Georgia State Patrol is still investigating.
David Bius, 45, was a supervisor with the Georgia Federal State Inspection Service, and Kandy Bius, 44, was a customer service representative with Riverside Manufacturing Co.
Their funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. For full obituary information, see Page 2A.
This was Worth County’s second double fatality in a week. The previous Friday, Jan. 17, a pickup pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer near Poulan. When the semi hit it, the truck driver lost control and hit a second pickup before coming to rest. The drivers of the two pickups — 81-year-old Charles Lunsford of Sumner and 23-year-old Jake Williams of Sylvester — were killed.
