The first Moultrie Police Department mother-son dance on Saturday, May 10, will benefit the department's honor guard, with plans to use proceeds in subsequent years for organizations that help kids.
"This is going to be one we're going to be doing annually," police Cpl. Rocky Hancock said. "There's plans for every year for money to be donated to a child's charity within our city. It's really important.”
Mothers, grandmothers and sons of all ages can participate in the event from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Colquitt County Arts Center ballroom. In addition to dancing to music provided by Lights, Sound, Action, light refreshments will be served.
Tickets are $25 per couple and $5 for each additional guest, and they are available at the police department, 128 First St. S.W., 8 a.m-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Photography will be provided by Belinda Paul Photography.
Tickets are available at the police station on First Street Southwest in the Criminal Investigative Unit lobby.
"They're going quickly, so if they do plan on going please come see us to get tickets," Hancock sad.
