Summer vacation brings thoughts of sun and fun, but the break from school also provides a great opportunity for teens to become safer drivers. Moultrie Technical College will offer three sections of Driver’s Education on the Veterans Parkway Campus in Moultrie in June and July with the goal of reaching 75 young drivers.

The 36-hour course meets the requirements of Joshua’s Law which mandates that all 16-year-olds applying for a class D driver’s license must complete an approved driver education program. In addition, most insurance companies provide a discount to drivers who successfully complete the course.

Course instructor Jerry Croft has over 35 years of experience teaching teen drivers and says he remains committed to keeping teens safe behind the wheel. Croft instructs using both in-class lecture time and on-the-road driving time.

Openings remain in classes to be offered June 30-July 3 and July 28-31. Students must possess a learner’s permit prior to the first day of class. The $260 tuition is due at registration. To register, contact Mary Beth Watson at 217-4257 or mwatson@moultrietech.edu.
