MOULTRIE -- The Colquitt County Branch of NAACP is sponsoring its annual banquet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at the George Walker Fellowship Hall of Friendship Baptist Church.
The theme for the event is "Remembering the Past, Committed to the Present, Transforming the Future." The speaker will be the Rev. Arthur Nehru Hargrett.
Hargrett is a resident of Tallahassee, Fla. He is married to Linda Roland Hargrett and is the father of three daughters and one son. He was called to the ministry in the spring of 1975. He has pastored several churches of the First Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Association. He is currently the associate minister of the First International Missionary Baptist Association of Tallahassee.
This is his 27th year with Florida State University in the controller department. His community interests and affiliations include: member of the Tallahassee Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, founder and director of 4R's Tutorial Sport Center, member of the NAACP, basketball youth coach and referee with Tallahassee Parks and Recreation, and member of the Woodville Recreation Council.
