Miss Betty Ruth Eady

TY TY -- Miss Betty Ruth Eady, 73, of Ty Ty died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 10, at Pine Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Wright officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Born April 8, 1929, in Worth County, Miss Eady was the daughter of the late Perry Eady and Betty Jane Giles Eady. She was a retired teacher. She was a member of the Worth Retired Teachers Association and Pine Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Jewel E. Slappey and Evelyn R. Guarnieri both of Sumner; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Pine Hill Baptist Church, 1583 Gibbs Road, Sumner, Ga. 31789.

Henry Billy Chambers

MOULTRIE -- Henry Billy Chambers, 74, of Moultrie died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Brownwood Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ron Shiver officiating.

Born Aug. 30, 1927, in Colquitt County, Mr. Chambers was the son of Theo Melton Chambers and John Wilburn Chambers. He was a retired supervisor from Moultrie Manufacturing Company and was a member of Funston Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Meadows Chambers of Moultrie; a daughter and son-in-law, Tisha C. Durant and husband Joseph of St. Simons Island; brothers, John Lewis Chambers of Moultrie, Ralph Lavon Chambers of Gainesville, Fla., William Jack Chambers of Stockbridge, Roy Chambers of Bartow, and Joseph Homer Chambers of Lake Park; and sisters, Brenda Chambers Griner of Moultrie, Karen C. Kinsaul of Albany and Janna C. Crump of Jacksonville, Fla.

Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Athlene Braswell Payne

BERLIN -- Athlene Braswell Payne, 73, of 120 Third St., Berlin, died Thursday, May 8, 2002, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Revs. J.P. Norman and Ken Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mack Pyles, Danny Cannon, Tim Eaton, Robert Braswell, Charles Hall and Claude Lord.

Born July 24, 1928, in Brooks County, Mrs. Payne was the daughter of the late Ola Mae Pyles Braswell and the late William H. Braswell. She was a homemaker and a member of Berlin Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bennett E. Payne of Berlin; sons, Calvin R. Pyles of Naples, Fla. and Lamar Pyles of Tifton; daughters, Dale P. Eaton of Moultrie, Gail P. Ranew and husband Chris, Kathy Pyles and Sherry P. Manship and husband Mark, all of Naples, Fla; stepsons, Glen D. Payne, Cleveland B. Payne and Travis M. Payne; sister Laura B. Brown of Manchester, Tenn; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 7- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family can be contacted at either 120 Third St., Berlin, or the home of Dale E. Eaton, 298 Country Drive, Moultrie.
