NORMAN PARK -- Ernest Sims of Norman Park died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Naida Ennis Thompson Odom

MITCHELL COUNTY -- Naida Ennis Thompson Odom, 77, of Mitchell County, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at Funston Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Shiver officiating. Burial will be in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Doerun.

Born June 6, 1925, in Tiptonville, Tenn., Mrs. Odom was the daughter of the late Louise Northam Ennis and Henry Franklin Ennis. She was a homemaker and a member of Funston Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Shannon Trout and Henry Lee Ennis; and five sisters, Molly Pierce, Willa Mae Brinkley, Katie Smith, Jewell Martin and Flossie Young.

Survivors include a son, Len Thompson and wife Sarah of Moultrie; a daughter, Betty Thompson Lastinger and husband Eugene of Moultrie; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Funston Baptist Church Building Fund or Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.

The family may be contacted at the home of Len Thompson, 208 Tom Smith Road.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



'T.W.' Conger

TIFTON - Thomas William "T.W." Conger, 82, of Tifton, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Dr. Wayne Roe and the Rev. Charles Nichols will officiate. Burial will follow at Salem Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tommy Conger, Drew Veazey, Ronnie Hornbuckle, Sammy Rogers, Ken Hall Jr. and David Morris.

Born April 7, 1920, in Worth County, Mr. Conger was the son of William Allen Conger and Fannie Kendall Conger, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Leila Ann White Conger of Tifton; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Karen Conger of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Drew Veazey and Tammy and Ronnie Hornbuckle, all of Tifton, and Mary and Sammy Rogers of Nashville; three brothers, H.L. Conger of Worth County and L.E. Conger and George Jack Conger, both of Tifton; one sister, Erby Tucker of Worth County; and eight grandchildren, Charley Rogers, Daniel Conger, Hailey Conger, Clay Hornbuckle, Sam Hornbuckle, Max Hornbuckle, Jane Anne Veazey and Addie Veazey.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
