Ruth A. Farran
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Ruth A. Farran, 57, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, in Tallahassee.
Services were held at at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee with burial in Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Wayne Farran; her son, David Farran and a daughter, Stacy Farran; her mother, Annie Ree Hatcher of Moultrie; a brother, Cecil Anderson of Savannah; a sister, Sara Goodroe of Moultrie; and five grandchildren.
Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sadie Griffin Howell
BARNEY -- Mrs. Sadie Griffin Howell, 75, of Barney, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Smith Hospital in Hahira.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at Morrison Baptist Church with the Rev. Manning Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Morrison Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Price, Thomas Price, John Morris, Donnie Howell, Billy Howell and Jeff Cooper.
Born July 24, 1926, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Howell was the daughter of the late Henry Eli Griffin and Annie Susan Cummings Griffin. She was a homemaker and a member of Morrison Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wilmer Howell.
Survivors include a son, Dennis G. Howell and wife, Julie, of Barney; a daughter, Helen Howell Morris and husband James of Stockbridge; brothers-in-law, Edison Howell and wife Mary Alice of Thomasville and Herbert Howell of Moultrie; a sister, Maggie Mae Manning of Plant City, Fla.; six grandchildren, Catherine Howell of Barney, Randy Price and wife Brenda, Thomas Price, John Morris and wife Mitzi, all of Stockbridge, Beth Morris and husband Stacey and Yvonne Morris, all of Moultrie; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Eva Mae Pannell
ALBANY -- Eva Mae Pannell, 86, of Albany, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, in Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Moultrie with the Rev. Tony Haef officiating.
Born May 30, 1915, Mrs. Pannell was the daughter of the late Cara Peek Pannell and Talmadge Pannell. She had been a resident of Georgia all her life, having lived in both North and South Georgia. She retired from Lockheed Corporation in Marietta after 25 years of service. She had resided in Albany since 1978 and was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Jay Pannell and wife Dean of Putney; four sisters, Thelma Spain and husband Jimmy of Fortson, Lena Adams of Fortson, Zelma Wachtel of Griffin and Lucy Wiard and husband Roy of Albany; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
The family may be contacted at the home of Roy and Lucy Wiard, 3419 Forest Ridge, Albany.
Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MOULTRIE -- Johnny H. Tabor, 64, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Archbold Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cobb Funeral Chapel.
William Boyd Haggard
MOULTRIE -- William Boyd Haggard, 60, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Magnolia Manor South Nursing Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Lucille G. Sims
ATLANTA -- Lucille G. Sims, 92, of the Atlanta area, formerly of Norman Park, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001.
Services will be held at at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Sigsbee.
Survivors include daughters, Alice Rampley of Valdosta, Lucy McMullen of Chatsworth, Dorothy Bishop of Bozeman, Mont., and Barbara Belcher of Snellville; sons, Jerry Sims of Decatur and Monroe Sims of Augusta; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
A.S. Turner and Sons is in charge of arrangements.
