Turner Eugene "Gene" Shiver
TIFTON -- Turner Eugene "Gene" Shiver, 52, of Tifton, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 1, at Albritton-Beaumont Chapel with the Rev. Edwin Dillard. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery.
Born Oct. 13, 1949, in Camilla, Mr. Shiver was the son of Jack Shiver and the late Clara Verna Cook Shiver. He moved to Tifton from Pelham 18 years ago. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a son, Turner Eugene Shiver Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Roberts Shiver of Tifton; his father, Jack Shiver of Pelham; a son, LeShannon Roberts of Tifton; daughters, Jessica Kelley Shiver of Tifton, Francee Ardita of Clearwater, Fla., and Allissa Conover of Charlottesville, Va.; sisters, Glenda Brinson of Pelham and Jane Barwick of Coolidge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, Tiftarea Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
MOULTRIE -- Jessie Roberts, 53, of Moultrie, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Luke Strong and Son Chapel with the Rev. Mose Jordan officiating. Burial will be in St. James Pallbearers #2 Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Malcolm Tyler, Marcus Tyler, Thomas Tyler and Reginald Tyler.
Born July 26, 1947, in Baker County, Mr. Roberts was the son of Mary Frances Roberts and the late Willie C. Roberts. He was a woodsman and of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include his mother, Mary France Roberts of Moultrie; brothers, Elder Joe Roberts (Earlene), Clarence Roberts (Diane), James Roberts (Fannie Pearl) all of Moultrie and Charles Roberts and Lorene Ward of Doerun; sisters, Willie Bell Roberts Tyler (James), Louise Roberts Tyler (the late Thomas) and Rosie Roberts all of Moultrie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family may be contacted at the home of Mrs. Ann King, 611 Oak Circle.
Luke Strong and Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
