John Timothy (Tim) Henderson

MARIETTA -- John Timothy (Tim) Henderson, 39, of Marietta, formerly of Moultrie, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at West Point Medical Center in Pine Mountain.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 4, in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Burial will be in Old Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Eldorado. Pallbearers will be Stacy Green, Tracy Green, Terry Green, Shane Henderson, Chris Henderson, Josh Sanders and Clay Turner.

Born Feb. 11, 1963, in Moultrie, Mr. Henderson was the son of Jack "Tim" Henderson and the late Mary Lottie Billings Henderson. He was a CPA with Vertical Financial Services in Marietta. Mr. Henderson was a graduate of Colquitt County High School and Valdosta State University. He was a triathlon competitor and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jack "Tim" Henderson and Bessie Henderson of Waynesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Wilda Henderson of Eldorado; a sister, Mary Ann H. Sanders of Moultrie; and several nieces and nephews.

Latoya N. Tatum

VILSECT, GERMANY -- P.F.C. Latoya N. Tatum, 19, of Moultrie died Sat., Aug. 30, 2002 in Vilsect, Germany.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Luke Strong and Son Mortuary.

Katie Nicole Giles

MOULTRIE -- Katie Nicole Giles, infant daughter of Angela Hill Giles and Greg Giles born July 23, 2002, of 1117 South Boulevard S.E., Moultrie, died Sun., Sept. 1, 2002.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 4, at Lakeside Assembly of God and interment to follow at Midway Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Comer officiating. Casketbearers will be Randy Terry and Jeffrey Hill.

She is survived by two brothers Kenneth Lamar and Justin Adam Giles; maternal grandparents Gloria Hill of Goldsboro, N.C. and Trent Hill and wife Ginger of Mount Olive, N.C.; paternal grandparents Lamar Giles and wife Bonnie of Moultrie and Gail McAlpin and husband Edward of Dublin; maternal great grandparents Hilda Hill of Mount Olive, N.C. and the late A.T. Hill; paternal great grandparents Ella Mae Giles of Moultrie and the late Oscar "Shot" Giles, Boles Beaty of Barwick, Ga. and the late Bernice Beaty; aunts and uncles Brian Giles and wife Amy of Atlanta, Jennifer Giles of Moultrie, Jeffery Hill of Fayetteville, N.C., David Causey of Moultrie, Cindy Bullington and husband Darrien of Cairo, Ga.; and cousins Keith, Brittany, Megan and Blake Giles of Atlanta and Courtney and Jamie Brooks of Cairo, Ga.

The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Giles, 1106 S. Boulevard S.E. in Moultrie.

Dorothy J. Winkleman

WELAKA, Fla. -- Dorothy J. Winkleman, 77, of Welaka, Fla. died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Fla.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka with the Revs. Eddie Humes, Gary Munson and Tom Myers officiating. Burial will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens.

A native of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Winkleman had resided in Putnam County for 29 years, moving from Moultrie. She had been the office clerk at the family business, Putnam Well Drilling. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Pomona Park and the Order of Eastern Star, 29 Palms, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Thompson Rogers.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Guy H. Winkleman of Welaka; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony J. and Julie Winkleman of Satsuma and Tommy and Pam Winkleman of Lake Como; six sisters, Louise Strickland, Mary Murphy, Ruth Broome and Betty Taylor, all of Moultrie, Nell Jay of Marietta and Peggy Price of Tallahassee; three brothers, Tommy Rogers of Moultrie, Cloyd Rogers of Lithonia and Bobby Rogers of Martinez; and four grandchildren, Jeff Winkleman, Ashley Winkleman, Hunter Winkleman and Baylee Winkleman.

Edith O. Deas

MOULTRIE -- Edith O. Deas, 78, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Valdosta.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Sardis Cemetery with the Revs. William C. Deas and Bill McCoy officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons Frankie and Bryan Gay, Marc and William Deas, Stanley, Jeff and Chris Lawrence, and David and Jimmy Nellis. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters Donna Leverett, Traci Selph, Polly McGraw, Marci Thompson, Kristy Deas, Blondie Conley and Kim Sabo.

Born June 8, 1924, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Deas was the daughter of the late Isaac and Katie Dawson Tucker. She was a homemaker and the owner/operator of Bill's Service Station in Berlin. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Bryant C. Deas; two sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Spud Deas and wife Linda of Berlin and Bill Deas and wife Edna of Orange City, Fla.; daughters, Libby Gay and husband Frank of Quitman, Jean Gay and husband Randall of Morven, Ann Cummings and husband Ron and Peggy Lawrence all of Deltona, Fla., and J.R. Lawrence of Orange City, Fla.; a brother, Dallas Tucker of Deland, Fla.; a special nephew, Daniel Tucker of Deland, Fla.; several Deas and Tucker nieces and nephews; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
