Willean Walker

FUNSTON -- Ms. Willean Walker, 36, of Funston died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Sale City with the Revs. W.C. Whitfield and W.B. Sales officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery in Pebble City. Pallbearers will be Melvin Toombs Jr., Gerald Toombs, Curtis Walker, Levin B. Walker, Jimmy Walker Jr. and Forrest Toombs.

Born March 13, 1966, in Mitchell County, Ms. Walker was the daughter of Mrs. Katherine Walker and the late Simon Swan. She was a social worker and a Baptist.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Katherine Walker of Baconton; brothers, James W. Walker Jr. of Doerun, Jimmy L. Walker, Henry L. Walker (Christine), both of Sale City, Freddie D. Walker (Sonya) of Boynton Beach, Fla., Johnny L. Walker (Patricia) of Upper Malboro, Md., and Eddie L. Walker (Lanette) of Visalia, Calif.; sisters, Mary Toombs (Melvin) of Baconton, Catherine Williams (Earnest) of Moultrie, Willie Bell Walker of Hartsfield, Betty J. Bell of Doerun, Dorothy J. Walker of Camilla and Terri Moore (Lewis) of Baconton; a devoted companion, Joseph Robinson of Funston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Mrs. Katherine Walker, 12069 Hwy. 93, Baconton.

Charlie W. Lairsey

MOULTRIE -- Charlie W. Lairsey, 86, of Moultrie died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at Magnolia Manor South Nursing Center.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rick Crook officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Plymel, Dale Davis, Christopher Riggs, Craige Plymel, Mike Davis and Steven Plymel.

Born April 15, 1916, in Coffee County, Mr. Lairsey was the son of Fannie Lou McGee Lairsey and Mack Lairsey. He was a retired minister and a member of the Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice J. Owens Lairsey; two sisters, Lola Lairsey and Bessie Hunter; and three brothers, Willie, Samuel and Raymond Lairsey.

Survivors include his daughters, Betty Plymel of Moultrie, Shirley Davis of Doerun, Helon Suggs of Jacksonville, Fla., and Verdie Daniels of Middleburg, Fla.; foster children, Donna McDonald, Mark Beckerman, Peggy Haley and Sharon Spratlin; brothers, Robert Lairsey and Randall Lairsey, both of Moultrie; grandchildren, Roger Plymel, Craige Plymel, Dale Davis, Mike Davis, Christopher Riggs, Darlene Morrison, Dawn Sebastian, Cyndee Key and Judi Balzano; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral chapel.

The family may be contacted at the home of Betty Plymel, 346 Seminole Drive.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Elise Masonoff

MOULTRIE -- Elise Masonoff of Moultrie died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home.
