MOULTRIE — A passenger reported being injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning.

Tangela Grant, 31, of Shy Manor Drive, was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center with injuries from the accident. A hospital spokesperson said she was treated for her injuries and released Monday.

A Nissan Maxima, driven by Kenneth Toomer, of 2404 15th St. S.W., was driving on First Avenue Southeast just past the Talmadge Drive intersection at 11:36 a.m. Monday. As it passed the entrance to the Winn-Dixie shopping center, a Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Donna Carter, of 9723 Airline Road in Pavo, entered the road and collided with the Maxima on the passenger side.

Carter told a Moultrie police officer she was leaving the shopping center and turning left onto First Avenue Southeast. She said she did not see the Maxima coming when she entered the intersection.

Toomer and Carter and one passenger in the Maxima did not report being injured in the collision. Grant, also a passenger in the Maxima, was taken to Colquitt Regional by Colquitt County EMS.

Carter was cited for failure to yield while entering a roadway; Toomer was not cited or charged.
