Two people, including a 10-year-old boy, were taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center with injuries from a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon.

Alisa Vinson, of 111 30th Ave. N.W., and the 10-year-old boy were treated for their injuries and released Friday.

An Isuzu Rodeo, driven by Vinson, was on First Avenue Southeast and entered into the intersection with Seventh Street Southeast at 1:09 p.m. Friday. As she did, a Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Lasharnette Sims, of 176 Malaga St. N.E. in Pelham, also entered the intersection, and both vehicles collided, police reports stated.

Vinson stated the Malibu pulled out onto the road in front of her, and she could not avoid a collision. Sims told a Moultrie police officer she was making a left turn onto Seventh Street Southeast at the time of the collision. There was moderate damage to both vehicles, the report said.

Vinson and the young passenger in the Malibu complained of injuries, but Sims and a 3-year-old passenger in the Malibu did not report any injuries. Sims was cited for failure to yield while turning left and for a child restraint violation. Vinson was not charged. Read more local news in Tuesday's Moultrie Observer.
