• With the state in an economic crunch, any state activities beyond necessities are getting a lot of scrutiny with many of them be cut. But the Fourth of July celebration at Reed Bingham State Park drew a crowd of an estimated 12,000 people on Saturday. In Wednesday's Moultrie Observer, Park Manager Chet Powell offers his thanks to the many volunteers who helped make the celebration a success.
