MOULTRIE — A Moultrie Police Department officer investigating an open window Monday found a man inside a house where extensive damage and scattered feces also were found.

The officer discovered that a door at the residence at 403 Hillcrest Ave. S.E., had been kicked in and also saw an overturned water heater stripped of copper tubing and “human fecal matter scattered throughout the bottom floor,” police reports said.

After a second officer arrived they went inside and saw additional damage to wiring and copper tubing. Upstairs police found Benny C. Parrish. Feces also was scattered upstairs, police reports said.

Parrish, 42, 408 Third Ave. N.W., was charged with criminal trespass.

•Rita Charlene Rodriguez, 32, 221 Willow Drive, was charged Monday with contempt of court.

• Appolonia M. Bowen, 20, 1003 Force St., Valdosta, was charged Monday with theft by shoplifting.


• Super Cee, 2011 West Blvd., reported Monday that a woman pumped $29.55 worth of gasoline and left without paying.

• Trixie Steele, 1300 block Georgia Highway 133 South, reported Monday the theft of a Fury mountain bicycle at the intersection of West Central Avenue and Fifth Street Southwest.

• Sheila Dison, 400 block 10th Avenue Northwest, reported Monday the theft of a 2000 Chevrolet Lumina.


• Aquaisha Harris, 500 block 26th Avenue Southeast, reported Monday that a female acquaintance came to her residence and attempted to hit her with a bat. Harris told police that a closet door was damaged during the incident. The woman was not there when police arrived.

• Clarance Chafin, 200 block Sylvester Driver, reported Monday that a man hit him in the face with a small pistol and also tried to cut him with an unknown object. Chafin told police the incident happened at a friend’s residence in the 300 block of 11th Court Northwest.

Property damage

• Robin Calhoun, 300 block Fifth Avenue Southwest, reported Monday that a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo and gate were damaged.


• South Georgia Bank, 410 Lane St., reported Monday that several checks were forged. The checks were cashed Friday on an account that normally issues payroll checks each week. However, the bank determined that the checks cashed Friday were forged.

Suspicious activity

• Mary M. Deavours, 100 block Anderson Drive, reported Monday that a man came to her residence claiming he was conducting a land survey. When the man refused to give any identification and began looking around, Deavours threatened to call the sheriff’s office and he left.

Deavours reported that the man was driving a black GMC pickup truck with a CB antenna on the roof.


• Randall Eric Freeman, 2500 block Old Albany Road, reported Monday that a male acquaintance sent threatening text messages to him


• Andrew Richter, 1400 block Mt. Sinai Road, Doerun, reported Monday that when he went to a male acquaintance’s residence in the 500 block of Clarence Jones Road the friend got in his truck and punched him in the head.


• Casey Jenkins, 1200 block Gene McQueen Road, reported Monday that her personal information was stolen by a man who opened a bank account in her name in Valdosta.


• Johnnie Mae Silba, 1300 block U.S. Highway 319 North, Norman Park, reported Monday the theft of six solar-powered sidewalk lights.


• David Lee Williams Jr., 21, 2778 U.S. Hwy. 319 North, was charged Monday with four counts of deposit account fraud.

• Corey Tremayne Horne, 30, 315 First Ave. S.W., was charged Saturday with giving false information or name to an officer and obstruction of an officer.

• Jose Antonio Guzman, 21, 2085 Mitchell Road, Norcross, was charged Monday with failure to appear.
