MOULTRIE -- A pregnant inmate at Colquitt County Jail allegedly gashed herself with a razor Friday after a Superior Court judge revoked her probation.

Soon after inmate Shahera Janneen Hall, 24, Warner Robbins, got a razor from the guards to shave her legs, a guard observing inmates on camera saw her slash her arm in the day room. Guards distribute razors to inmates only for a short time, Lt. Debbie Miller said Monday.

Hall cut a gash in the back of her arm eight inches long and also sliced her leg. Guards stopped the bleeding and transported Hall to Colquitt County Regional Medical Center for stitches. She was then transferred to Georgia Southwestern State Hospital for observation, Miller said.

Hall was called before Judge Frank Horkan after repeatedly failing to report to her probation officer, report for community service and pay fines. Horkan ordered her to serve 180 to 365 days in a detention center. Hall was convicted of financial card transaction fraud in August 2003 and was sentenced to three years probation, court records said.

Hall, a former Moultrie resident, was granted a probation transfer to Warner Robbins but still failed to report to officers, court records said.

The inmate is three-months pregnant and also is mother to an infant, law enforcement officers said.
