MOULTRIE — Ongoing work at a railroad crossing in Colquitt County will mean a detour of U.S. Highway 319 North possibly through Friday, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The detour is necessary to allow OmniTRAX to install new concrete panels and new cross ties and to perform resurfacing work, the agency said.
Traffic on Highway 319 at the railroad crossing near the Moultrie city limits will be diverted onto Highway 37.
Northbound traffic will be directed to Highway 37 east for approximately 23 miles, then onto Interstate 75 in Adel.
Southbound traffic will be detoured from the I-75 Exit 61/Omega Road in Tifton to Exit 39/Highway 37 in Adel. Traffic will be directed west on Highway 37 for about 23 miles.
If work is completed earlier than anticipated normal traffic will return to Highway 319.
