MOULTRIE — A prominent Moultrie businessman was found dead at his home Monday morning. A cause of death had not been determined and was under investigation at press time.

A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to 610 Paul Murphy Road about 9:10 a.m. Monday about a death. Upon arrival, the deputy found Frank Ramsey Pidcock IV, 47, dead inside the house. His body was discovered in the house by a female acquaintance, who first reported the incident, sheriff’s reports stated.

Colquitt County Sheriff’s Investigator Lt. Shannon Hart said it was unknown what caused Pidcock’s death. Investigators from the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation spent Monday morning at the house collecting evidence.

Pidcock’s body sent to Atlanta for an autopsy. The autopsy was expected to be performed Tuesday, and Hart hoped it would reveal a cause of death.

More information was expected to be available once the autopsy was completed. Funeral information will be available from Baker-Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home at a later date.
