For Nov. 14

No apostrophe

"Let's get together for a spelling lesson. Veterans Day is spelled without an apostrophe."

Thanks

"I'd like to give credit where credit is due. I have complained about our roads out here at Murray-McCranie and Jim Sharpe being rough and Roads and Bridges not keeping them up like we thought they should. Last Thursday they came out and graded our roads. I saw a different guy operating the machine, and this is the smoothest our roads have been in the last two years or more. It's about time, and we're hoping this man stays on the machine because he smoothed these roads over and they're so much nicer to ride on. Thank you, Roads and Bridges."

No crime report

"I think the paper was much better without the daily crime report. We don't need to know everybody's problems."

No apostrophe

"Let's get together for a spelling lesson. Veterans Day is spelled without an apostrophe."

You had to vote

"For the person Ranting and Raving about the East Bypass on Nov. 13; they said there was no place on the ballot for keeping the name East Bypass. You seem to have a problem understanding democracy. You had to vote to get in the final ballot. You had to be one of the top five. So apparently there were too many of y'all who wanted to leave it not doing anything, just sitting on your heinie. You don't understand the democratic process. But don't feel alone; there's some people in high places who don't understand it either -- and even call themselves Democrats: Roy, Harold and a few more."
