Report: Retarded man sodomized by group

MOULTRIE -- A Moultrie woman reported a group of unknown persons sodomized a 24-year-old mentally retarded man between Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

The Southwest Moultrie woman reported the incident to Moultrie police Sunday morning after the victim told her of the incident. The man was unable to give a statement to police because of his condition.

Police reports said a group of unknown persons entered their residence and took the man outside. Once he was outside, the group sexually assaulted him.

An exact number of persons involved was unknown, but police reports said the woman stated they were able to enter the residence easily. She told the officer the front door is hard to lock and easy to open. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

The woman told the officer that the man would run and hide from certain people coming into the residence out of fear, reports said. The officer told the woman to take the man to Colquitt Regional Medical Center so that he could be examined by a doctor. Results of the examination were unknown at the time of report.
