MOULTRIE -- The fraud trial against former Colquitt County High School head counselor Ernest Shanks was continued Friday until next term.

Shanks has been suffering from poor health this year. In July, a dismissal hearing was postponed because he had a mild stroke some time prior.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Shanks this February, alleging he attempted to get a Colquitt County High School student to take the SAT in the place of a Dougherty County basketball player, once a University of Georgia signee.

Shanks, 51, pleaded innocent in July to two counts first degree forgery, two counts second degree forgery and one misdemeanor count regarding his alleged possession of a college ball player's Social Security card.
