MOULTRIE -- The holiday voices of Colquitt County will resound from Willie B. Withers Auditorium on Dec. 6.

The Colquitt County Arts Center will present a performance of Handel's "Messiah" at 7 p.m.

Arts Center Executive Director Becca Turner said "Messiah" is the second performance in the Arts Center Entertainment Series (ACES) for the 2004-2005 season. Footworks, a percussive dance ensemble, was held in October, and future ACES events include "The Wizard of Oz" on March 6 and comedian James Gregory on March 24.

Tickets for "Messiah" are available at the Arts Center, and Turner said they range in price from $4 to $9. Tickets also can be purchased at the door the night of the performance.

"Messiah" will be performed by a community chorus made up of about 60 volunteer members, Turner said. The chorus is being directed by Kathy Wright, choral director at Colquitt County High School. The Albany Symphony Orchestra will accompany the chorus.

The event is being presented by the Arts Center and being sponsored by the Cecil B. Day Investment Co., Turner said.
