THOMASVILLE, Ga. — A Moultrie boy is among a third grade class that has been named a finalist in the 2018-2019 National Book Challenge.

The Brookwood School third grade class will receive a $50 gift card plus a published author certificate for each student — including Madison Huffman, the son of Dr. and Mrs. William J. Huffman III of Moultrie.

Each of the 27 authors was recognized for contributions to their book, “Thankful Third Grade Turkeys,” which was published earlier this year. Studentreasures, the publisher of the book, hosts the National Book Challenge.

“Students in Mrs. King and Ms. Hall’s third grade classes came up with the idea for ‘Thankful Third Grade Turkeys’ when thinking about things that make them thankful,” a press release from Brookwood School said.

As a finalist in the National Book Challenge, the class book was selected from entries across the country and awarded as a Top 50 book based on its originality, creative storyline, and colorful illustrations.
