A pizza delivery man reported he was held up at gunpoint and robbed Wednesday evening.
A Moultrie police officer was called to a house on First Avenue Northwest at 7:08 p.m. Wednesday about an armed robbery. The officer spoke with the delivery driver, who stated he was making a delivery when an unknown person pulled a gun on him and demanded money.
The driver stated he was robbed of $20 cash, and the robber fled from the scene and was believed to have gone inside the house. Officers and the Colquitt County SWAT Team responded to the scene and surrounded the house, believing the robber was inside.
The SWAT Team entered the house about 9 p.m., but the robber was not inside the house. A pizza box was believed to have been seen on the house’s front porch.
The robbery was under investigation by the Moultrie Police Department, and additional details are expected to be available within the next few days. A description of the robber was not available at the time of report.
