MOULTRIE — A Colquitt County High School student was apprehended after he allegedly threatened to shoot another student following a fight Tuesday afternoon.

Clarence Drew, 17, of 1108 Third St. S.E., was charged with making terroristic threats and acts.

An officer was called to the high school on Park Avenue at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday about the incident. He spoke with the school’s resource officer, who stated Drew got into a fight with a 16-year-old student that morning.

The officer spoke with the 16-year-old boy’s mother, and she stated Drew had said he was going to get into a fight with her son and then shoot him. Police said Drew allegedly hit the 16-year-old following the class, starting the fight. A witness told the officer Drew allegedly said he was going to fight the 16-year-old and he had a .45-caliber and was going to shoot him.

Police said Drew allegedly admitted to an officer that he started the fight by hitting the 16-year-old boy. He denied, however, that he threatened to shoot his fellow student.

Drew was then placed under arrest and taken to Colquitt County Jail because the other boy’s mother decided to press charges against him.
