U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., this week received the 2012 “Spirit of Enterprise” award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for his support of pro-jobs, pro-growth policies last year.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for voting in a pro-business manner,” said Chambliss. “As the Senate moves forward on legislation to get our economy on back on track, I will continue to strongly advocate for measures that allow businesses to thrive, and that spur job growth and stability within our economy.”
“While many in Congress were busy playing politics, Sen. Chambliss was working to protect and advance the interests of America’s job creators,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber.
The chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise award, in its 24nd year, has been given annually to members of Congress based on key business votes outlined in the chamber’s yearly publication, “How They Voted.”
Chambliss collectively holds a 91 percent ranking during his tenure in Congress.
