MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Moultrie woman killed on Ga. Highway 133 late last Thursday has been identified, according to Georgia State Patrol.
Leeann Carlton, 34, was crossing the highway north to south with her dog when a husband and wife traveling toward Berlin hit her on Oct. 3. She died on the scene.
According to State Trooper Frank Gay, Carlton was homeless. Colquitt County Deputy Coroner Kevin Wimberly notified her family of the death.
GSP doesn’t suspect speed or alcohol use to be a factor, but blood draws were performed on the man driving the car and on Carlton. They are waiting for lab results.
