MOULTRIE -- Walter Dotson Norman, 86, of Moultrie, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at his residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Ronald Bass, Terry Webb and Ralph Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene King, Richard Combs, Brantley Harrell. J.I. Hatcher, Danny Moree, G.W. Norman, Donald Horne, Randall Norman, Stan Pittman and Danny Moncrief.

Born Jan. 16, 1915, in Worth County, Mr. Norman was the son of the late Mattie Ann Thompson Norman and Carter Greene Norman. He was a retired farmer and a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church where he was a deacon. Mr. Norman was a former Star Mail route carrier from 1938-1942. He was a clerk with Beall's Hardware for 14 years. He served as a Colquitt County Commissioner from 1970-1978 and served with the Colquitt County Memorial Hospital Authority Board.

He was preceded in death by his son, Hilton Norman.

Survivors include his wife, Retha Juanita Moree Norman of Moultrie; a daughter, JaLayne N. Bass and husband Ronald of Hartsfield; a sister, Mattie Lou Ingram of Moultrie; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the church of your choice or to Hospice of Colquitt County.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

SUMNER -- Julius H. Erstling, 83, of Sumner, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with the Rev. Jennifer Sherling officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.

Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Demetrius Alonzo 'Rolla' Williams

MEIGS -- Demetrius Alonzo "Rolla" Williams, 27, of Meigs, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
