MOULTRIE — Some 23 people, including a 16-year-old boy, face charges after they were apprehended at one of two DUI checkpoints set up Friday night and into Saturday morning.

The checkpoints were a joint venture between the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol.

Capt. John Bass of the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office said the two checkpoints were set up at the intersection of Woodmen Road and the Veterans Parkway and the intersection of Old Doerun Road and West Boulevard. While at the checkpoint, officers issued 46 citations and placed 23 people under arrest, 10 of those for charges of DUI.

The Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office performs DUI checkpoints once every three months in conjunction with the Georgia State Patrol, Bass said. Those who were placed under arrest at the checkpoints were:

• A 16-year-old boy was charged with DUI, possession of alcohol by a minor and an open container violation;

• Willard Davis Jr., 38, of 1416 Ninth St. S.W., was charged with driving with a suspended license, an open container violation and tail lights required;

• William Ray Morgan, 61, of 448 Millpond Road, was charged with driving with a suspended license;

• Jana Renea Yeomans, 22, of 4462 Highway 37 W., was charged with driving with a suspended license and a child restraint violation;

• Reddick Wilson, 35, of 1109 Fourth Ave. S.E., was charged with driving with a suspended license;

• Corey Graham, 26, of 560 Joe Stewart Road, was charged with driving with a suspended license;

• Willie Brice, 33, of 1515 Fourth Ave. N.E., was charged with driving without a license;

• Johnny C. Wheeler, 21, of 700 Union Drive, was charged with driving without a license and an open container violation;

• Gabrial Gonzalez, 21, of Green Acres Trailer Drive, was charged with driving without a license and no tag light;

• Alfonzo Intzim, 19, of Dogwood Drive, was charged with driving without a license and tail lights required;

• Joshua Lane Broom, 18, of 15 Palmetta Road in Tifton, was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor;

• Jamie Croy, 23, of 1532 Old Albany Road, was charged with DUI;

• Christopher Jackson, 20, of 4620 Old Adel Road, was charged with DUI and speeding;

• Adan Martinez Hernandez, 24, of 689 McDonald Road in Thomasville, was charged with driving without a license and a seat belt violation.

• Justino Hernandez, 33, of 994 Alton Road, was charged with DUI;

• Derrick Jerome McClendon, 27, of 1312 Brookview Drive, was charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, a seat belt violation and an open container violation;

• Manuel Vega, 31, of 19336 Coffee St. in Barwick, was charged with DUI, driving without a license and driving with unauthorized red lights;

• Miguel Esquivel, 32, of 707-H Sumner Road, was charged with DUI, driving without a license, an open container violation, a seat belt violation and no tag light;

• Christopher Ray Serna, 18, of 385 Magnolia Ave., was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute;

• Manuel Ybarra, 26, of 368 Langford St. in Berlin, was charged with failure to maintain lane, DUI (third offense) and driving with a suspended license;

• Shawn Spivey, 32, of 722 Northside Drive, was charged with DUI and speeding, and;

• Obando Aguilar, 20, of 378 Sinco Road in Tifton, was charged with speeding, DUI and driving without a license.
