MOULTRIE, Ga. — Police say a Moultrie woman sought to get even with her boyfriend by reporting him to law enforcement, but the plan backfired when she admitted as much to responding officers.

Jaden Mackenzie Ousley, 17, 1509 Hutchinson Drive, was charged with false report of a crime.

Seven Colquitt County sheriff’s deputies responded when Ousley reported that her boyfriend had threatened her with a gun. Two went to where she was on North Main Street, and five went to find the boyfriend on Sylvester  Drive.

The reporting deputy said Ousley immediately admitted she had lied when officers arrived. She said he didn’t have a gun and hadn’t threatened her.

The boyfriend showed officers a text message from Ousley that said she was going to get him in trouble, the deputy reported.

Ousley said she thought her boyfriend had been on the phone with another woman, but then she found out he was talking with a local retailer about a job.
