MOULTRIE — A Moultrie woman reported Wednesday a man she knows damaged a rental vehicle parked at her house. She later reported the same man came back to her house early Thursday morning and shot at her.

Linda Wheeler, of Sylvester Court, reported someone broke out the rear window and flattened all four tires of a Dodge Nitro, rented from Enterprise Leasing Co., between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. The value of the damage was not known, but Wheeler gave the Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy the name of a male suspect.

Another sheriff’s deputy was called to Wheeler’s house at 12:37 a.m. Thursday about a shooting. Wheeler told the deputy she and her daughter were sitting in a parked car and saw a white Ford Taurus drive by the house.

As Wheeler walked around her house, she stated she saw the man on the property and he fired three shots at her Cadillac Deville. He then fired twice at her and her daughter before running back to the Taurus and driving away. Neither Wheeler nor her daughter were injured in the shooting.

The deputy found a bullet hole in the rear window of the Deville and a ricochet that hit a kitchen window. Two bullet holes were also found near an abandoned house next to Wheeler’s house.
