MOULTRIE -- Tangela McCloud, 619 Third St. S.E., told Moultrie police that a man she knows prevented her from leaving her residence by holding her neck.
She said the man held her down and struck her repeatedly. Officers said her left eye was blackened and swollen and bruises were evident on her hips and upper legs.

Robert Will Corbin, 602 Ninth St. N.W., was arrested Monday on charges of family violence battery, simple battery and cruelty to children. Shana Chambers reported to the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office that Corbin hit her several times in the head during an argument. Two children ages 5 and 9 were present, reports said. Deputies reported injuries to the victim's face and found a large hole in a wall where the victim said Corbin pushed her.
Tangela Yvette McCloud, 39, 518 Fourth St. S.W., was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault, reports said.
Earl Johnson, 34, 600 Main St., was arrested Thursday on charges of burglarizing Buddy's Home Furnishings, 13 First St. N.W., Wednesday, police said. Witnesses told police that at 8:18 p.m., they saw a short, stocky black male wearing a baseball cap, tan pants and a yellow, white and black striped shirt leave the store.
A back door was forced open. Taken from the store were a $30 pink JVC radio, which witnesses saw the offender carry from the store, officers said.
Jeremy Jerome Edwards, 21, 430 Seventh St. S.W., was arrested Sunday on charges of entering a motor vehicle with intent of felony.
James Larry Hiers, 56, 1770 Tillman Road, was arrested for driving under the influence and bad tail lights Wednesday.

Alfred Davis, 71, 118 Second Ave. N.W., passed a $10 counterfeit bill at McDonald's restaurant, 506 First Ave. S.W., Wednesday, officers said. Davis said he received the bill when an unidentified female bought Avon products from him, reports said. The officers placed the bill into evidence and advised Davis to find out who the woman is, they said.
Dianne Jenkins, 1214 W. Central Ave. N.W., reported to police Tuesday that someone kicked in her back door and put things in disarray, officers said. Nothing was reported missing.
Dave Clark, 2 Thornridge/Tallokas Road, reported Tuesday to deputies that someone stole his Dewalt 12-inch saw valued at $630 from 458 Old Berlin Road.
Pam Strickland, 496 R.L. Sears Road, reported to the CCSO Tuesday that someone entered her home through a back window and took a Magnavox video cassette recorder valued at $300 and her checkbook, reports said.
