MOULTRIE -- An 18-year-old Moultrian was charged Tuesday with child molestation and statutory rape for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl, Moultrie police reports said.
The mother of the girl reported on Aug. 30 that she caught her and Frank Downs, 18, 1201 Sixth Ave. N.W., having sex. A hospital test revealed the girl did have sex, police reports said.
A 14-year-old male was charged with having a weapon on school grounds Tuesday, after administrators allegedly found a 3 1/2-inch knife in his possession at Colquitt County High School, police reports said.
Edward French Jr., 22, of Moultrie, was charged Wednesday with failure to obey an officer.
Michael Bowman, 29, 218 Fifth St. N.W., was charged Wednesday with violating probation.
Felipe Chavez Jr., 17, 657 Circle Road, was charged Wednesday with criminal trespassing, simple assault and simple battery.
Tyree Sinclair, 21, 424 Fifth Ave. N.W., was charged Thursday with violating probation.
Christopher Tyshawn, 20, 616 Third Ave. S.E., was charged Wednesday with theft of services, theft by receiving stolen property and giving false information to an officer. Police reports said he was inside a room at the Town Terrace Motel Wednesday night, and a motel employee said he had not paid. Officers found keys to several rooms in his possession, reports said, and two knives inside the room.
Rebecca Smith, 42, 446 31st St. S.E., was charged Tuesday with battery, criminal trespassing and obstruction to an officer. All charges were domestic-violence related.
A stereo was stolen from Buddy's Home Furnishing on First Street Northwest Thursday morning, police reports said. The burglar entered the building by breaking the glass on a door, reports said.
Roy Reeves, of Moultrie, reported Wednesday that a window-unit air conditioner was stolen from a rental house at 419 First Ave. N.W., police reports said.
