Food Drive Campaign

The Colquitt County Farm Bureau is having its “Harvest for All” food drive campaign. Please deliver items to the farm bureau by Friday, Oct. 23.

Benefit Sing

There will be a benefit sing for Roy and Clara Carroll 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Schley Church of Blassingame Road and Hwy. 133. The featured group will be The Kirkland of Douglas, Ga. There will be a barbecue dinner at 5 p.m., before the sing. The plates will include grilled Boston butt, baked beans, cole slaw, cake and tea. Dine-in or carry-out. Gospel Sing

There will be a gospel sing at Spence Field in the Maule Pilot’s Lounge on Saturday, Oct. 17, starting at 7 p.m. The featured groups will be New Horizon and The Changing Times. Admission is free and a love offering will be taken for the groups.

Hands and Hearts for Horses

The Hands and Hearts for Horses Fifth Annual Fall Horse Show and Open House will be Saturday, Oct. 17, starting at 10 a.m., at 3824 Lower Cairo Road in Thomasville, Ga. For more information, call 229-551-0086.


The Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church in Coolidge, will observe Homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 18. Music will be presented by the Willing Servants at 10 a.m. The worship service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Clanton bringing the message. A covered-dish dinner will be shared following the service.
