Thomas University officials reported today an increase in the current spring semester enrollment over spring semester enrollment last year, which continues TU’s current trend of increasing enrollments.
“The increase in enrollment this academic year energizes the university on all levels,” said Dr. Jill Dennis, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. “It affirms that personal attention at every juncture works. We not only offer an avenue to a college degree, we provide an educational experience that transforms lives.”
In spring semester 2014 Thomas University had an enrollment of 1,046 students taking a total of 11,013 credit hours of courses. Currently there are 1,110 students enrolled for spring semester 2015 taking a total of 11,740 credit hours.
“Spring enrollment brings new students, but retaining existing students is a focus every day,” Dennis said. “Our retention rates are high because of strategies in place to ensure students have the support needed for success.”
Thomas University also experienced an increase in enrollment during the fall semester 2014 over fall semester 2013.
“A high level of personal interaction – from the admission experience to the classroom is what attracts students to TU,” said Rita Gagliano, Director of Admissions. “We believe in giving our very best to assist students and walk along with them through the educational journey. First-generation college students and those returning to complete their studies later in life find it helpful to have a friendly face and helpful hand to guide them. We’re collaborators, so whether studying on campus or online, they don’t have to do it alone.”
Both Dennis and Gagliano agree that TU’s approach to learning is what attracts students.
“We are very deliberate with programs we offer, how we offer them, and how we market them,” Dennis said. “All programs are blended with a liberal arts education resulting in graduates with an invaluable set of employability skills, which includes the ability to think critically and communicate effectively. While we strive for maximum recruitment efforts and seamless processes, our best advertisements are our graduates who are making a difference in our community and beyond. It’s hard to pinpoint a single factor that has resulted in our growth; we focus on our mission of personal and professional transformation, which works very well for us.”
