The family of George Boyd shared this poem he wrote years ago and asked that The Observer reprint it in honor of Easter Sunday.

SHALL we have peace the question is asked,

PEACE without the Prince of Peace, it will not last.

KINGDOMS and nations will rise and fall,

BUT Almighty God, our Heavenly Father is Lord of all.

WARS, rumors of wars and still more talk of Peace,

THE four horsemen of apocalypse, will they be released,

DEAR Heavenly Father, we do ask of you,

POSTPONE this judgment the world is due,

AND give us this lost chance some soul to win,

TO help free the world from the bondage of sin.

GUIDE us, protect us, and keep us in place,

UNTIL it is finished and we behold HIS face.

George Boyd
