Dear editor:

With the creation of the Department of Education, Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA in 1972, my federal, state and local government became an unwanted partner and my biggest competitor confiscating more that dollars required to comply. They took away my desire to compete and ultimately my business. as a member of our military I was prohibited from commentary of my government.

My government swore me to an oath upon my consignment to our U.S. Army “to protect and defend our nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Except for a brief skirmish in 1958 (I am a veteran of the Lebanese War) with the French Foreign Legion. I found no foreign enemies. I find myself derelict in the oath. I am supposed to defend against domestic enemies, which as it turns out would be my federal, state and local governments along with the State Department of Transportation. DOT has perpetrated a thing called TSPLOST.

I am in agreement with Mr. Jimmy Hiers of Doerun in his letter to the editor.  In this economic climate... are you nuts!?
