Dear editor:

Here’s something to seriously think about; perhaps even look into. How fair is our school system to all of its students?

What I mean is this; last Friday night was the prom, preceded by the grand march. That’s all well and good and many of the seniors and juniors had a great time. But there were some, who because of what’s called “credit recovery”, were not allowed to attend the prom. But some were allowed, even though they too were in credit recovery.

Various excuses have been made, but my point is this … and perhaps you’ve heard this phrase … “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander”.

To some, the prom seems so silly … but one day, most will look back and regret not being able to go. With all the other “bending of the rules” that goes on at Colquitt High, couldn’t a simple solution have been found and all the kids that wanted to attend, actually could have?
