MOULTRIE -- The annual Georgia All-Star Diving Meet will begin today at the Moose Moss Aquatic Center.

The All-Star Diving banquet will be held tonight at Sunset Country Club, where the junior and senior Divers of the Year will be announced.

Diving will begin at 10 this morning and could conclude this afternoon.

If necessary, the meet will continue Sunday, also beginning at 10 a.m.

Some 50 divers from Moultrie, Athens, Atlanta and Griffin are expected to compete.

The meet will include both Junior Olympic and novice divers and all members of the Moss Farms Diving Tigers are expected to take part.

Colquitt JV girls fall to Lee County

LEESBURG -- The Colquitt County High junior varsity girls soccer team was defeated 3-1 by Lee County in Leesburg on Thursday.

Whitney Hood had the Lady Packers only goal.

YMCA soccer coaches meet set for Monday

MOULTRIE -- There will be a mandatory meeting of YMCA spring soccer coaches at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the YMCA.

Colquitt baseball games cancelled

MOULTRIE -- The Colquitt County baseball games scheduled for today against Cook High and Thomasville High in Cairo today have been cancelled.

Packers coach Jerry Croft said he is attempting to schedule games for next week to take the place of the five games lost when rain forced the cancellation of the Reebok Baseball Challenge in Thomasville.

Wetherington scores 19; Fillies eliminated

TIFTON -- Former Lady Packer Britney Wetherington scored 19 points for Abraham Baldwin College on Friday, but the Fillies were eliminated from the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association tournament by Georgia Perimeter 59-48.

ABAC shot just 12.1 percent from the field in the first half and just 22.2 percent for the game.

The Fillies advanced with an 88-73 victory over Atlanta Tech on Thursday in a game in which Wetherington scored 25 points.

ABAC finished the season with 21-7 record.
