MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County boys golf team shot a 304 to finish second in the 20-team Demon Invitational in Warner Robins on Saturday.
Lowndes shot a 293 to win the tournament and beat the Packers by 11 shots.
Coffee was third with a 307.
The other Region 1-AAAAA teams in the field were Tift County, which shot a 313; Warner Robins, 321; Houston County, 342; Northside, 365; and Valdosta, 424.
Von Stripling led the Packers with a 75.
Billy Edwards and John Fordham each shot a 76 and Bowen Aguero had a 77.
Davis Edwards had an 82.
Packers coach Donald Dale his team let an even better score slip away on the last two holes.
Ty Howze of Lowndes was the low medalist with a 70. Tyler Padgett of Bleckley County had a 72.
The Colquitt County golfers will play next Saturday in the 16th annual Packer Invitational at Sunset Country Club, with 26 teams in the field.
In the Georgia Peach Classic in Rutledge, Colquitt County’s Jaycee Eunice shot an 81 to win the A flight.
She won by one shot over Casey Cole of Glynn Academy in the flight and finished fourth overall in the event.
