Kiarron Hendry shot a state match-qualifying 290 to lead the Colquitt County rifle team to a 1,121-1,064 victory over Worth County on Tuesday at the high school.
The victory gives the Packers an 11-3 record as they prepare for Friday’s area championships, to be held at Worth County High School.
Even if the Packers do not qualify for the state championships, Hendry will go as an individual after shooting the team’s first 290 of the season.
He did it with a 97 in prone position, an outstanding 98 in the standing and a 95 in the kneeling.
No other Packers managed a score higher than 279.
Katelyn Wilcott had the 279 with a 90 in the prone, a 91 in the standing and a 98 in the kneeling.
Delilah Wood had a 94 in the prone, a 90 in the standing and 93 in the kneeling for a 277.
Cameron Johnson shot a 275 that included a 95 in the prone, an 88 in the standing and a 98 in the kneeling position.
