The Colquitt County junior varsity golf team shot a 332 on Saturday at Perry Country Club to win the third annual Houston County Bear JV Invitational.

The Packers won by eight strokes over Columbus High, which shot 338.

The rest of the six-team field included Houston County, 362; Northside-Warner Robins, 388; Veterans, 405; and Warner Robins, 459.

Tyler Key led the Packers with an 81, that included a 37 on the front nine.

“He really played well on the front,” Packers coach Donald Dale said.

Colby Purvis shot 40-42 for an 82.

Jordan Williams had a 46-37 for an 83.

“Jordan had a quad and a triple on the front,” Dale said. “He had two real bad holes or he would have been under 80.”

Griffin Dunn’s 86 was the Packers other counting score.

McKenzie Blanchett shot an 87.

The Colquitt County varsity girls also played in Perry on Saturday and finished fourth in the Lady Bear Invitational.

Taylor Marie Griner shot an 88 and Marin Hanna a 91 for 179 for the Lady Packers.

Mallory Howren shot a 100 and Abi Bishop a 119 for the Colquitt County girls.

Tift County was first in the tournament with a 162. Thomas County Central and Woodward Academy tied for second at 167.
