MOULTRIE — It was a good time to be on Lake Sinclair on Saturday for four Moultrie fishermen, including James Kling, who took the first place co-boater money in the FLW Outdoors Bulldog Division tournament held there.

Ricky Kent, who came in 11th in the boater competition with two fish totalling 10 pounds, 8 ounces, won for having the tournament’s big fish.

Kevin Giddens was sixth among the co-boaters with four fish totalling 7 pounds, 4 ounces.

Giddens’ son Bryce, in his first tournament, was ninth among co-boaters with 6 pounds, 9 ounces.

Kling, who fished with boater Darryl Stewart of Slocomb, Ala., brought home $2,175 in what was his best tournament finish.

Kling’s previous best finish in a Bulldog Division event was an eighth place, also on Lake Sinclair. He also has had a ninth-place finish on Lake Lanier. He won on Saturday with four fish that totalled 10 pounds, 10 ounces.

Co-boaters are matched with boaters on a random draw.

The boats put out of the the Little River Park Marina in Milledgeville.

Kling said he plans to fish in rest of the Bulldog Division tournaments and hope to qualify for the regional tournament, which will be held in October at Lake Seminole.
