MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County girls softball team won its first two games of the Lowndes Vikette Invitational on Friday in Valdosta.

The Lady Packers defeated Cook 1-0 and Statesboro 9-6 and will meet Woodlawn of Bartow at 10:30 this morning.

Against Cook, Christy Harper went the distance, giving up just three hits and striking out six.

Meagan May had two hits and Harper, Jana Harvin and Caitlin Carr each had one.

Hannah Hancock pitched the game against Statesboro and struck out seven.

May, Harper, Brooke Hood, Maggie Davidson, Kaley Clark, Aubrey Perryman, Bria Wallace and Kaytlyne Jarvis each had one hit.

Woodland-Bartow also won two tournament games on Friday, as did Lowndes, Tift County and Valdosta.

The Lady Packers raised their record to 12-9-1.
