ack golfers tie for 10th
WAYNESBORO — The Colquitt County boys golf team shot a 334 on Saturday to claim a tie for 10th in the Taylormade/Adidas Invitational in Waynesboro.
The Packers were led by junior Braden Traylor, who shot a 74.
Colquitt also got an 82 from both Peyton Clark and JW. Griffin and a 96 from Harrison Kebler.
Clark, Griffin and Kebler are freshmen.
The Packers also got a 97 from Tyler Scott and a 107 from Chase Morgan.
“I was proud of them,” coach Donald Dale said. “They really improved a lot. We just need one more playing good to be competitive.”
Cambridge High of Milton was first in the 20-team field, shooting a 303.
Ryan Stachler of Cambridge was the low medalist with a 69.
Greenbrier and Lakeside of Augusta tied for second at 307.
Dunwoody was fourth at 311 and was followed by North Oconee, 321; EDA, 327; Lafayette and Morgan County, 329; Evans, 333; and Colquitt County and South Forsyth, 334.
Also playing were South Effingham, 336; Westside, 338; Stratford Academy, 339; and Greenbrier 2, 345.
The Packers will play next on Monday in the Trojan Invitational in Albany.
