Richmond Hill broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth inning with a pair of two-out runs and held on to deal the Colquitt County softball a 4-2 defeat in Richmond Hill.
The Lady Packers have now lost seven of their last eight games to drop to 5-8 on the season.
The Lady Packers will play Effingham High and South Effingham High today at Effingham High.
Colquitt jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Wildcats came back to score two in the bottom of the inning.
The Lady Packers got a leadoff double in the second, but could not push the run across. Colquitt had another opportunity in the third, but wasted it.
The Lady Packers tied the game in the top of the fourth.
But after retiring the first two batters in the bottom of the fourth, Colquitt surrendered a walk and hit a batter and a bloop single and an error led to two runs.
“We had four errors and four walks/hit batters,” coach Jake Mobley said. “And we had opportunities to score. The first time through the lineup, we had four hits. We only had one more.
“It’s very, very frustrating. We’re just not playing with enough intensity.”
After the games against Effingham and South Effingham today, the Lady Packers will play host to Thomas County Central at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
On Thursday, Colquitt will open Region 1-AAAAAA play with a 4 p.m. game against Valdosta at Packer Park.
