MOULTRIE — The Moultrie MGs represented the Moultrie YMCA in the Title Town Classic located in Valdosta.

The MGs made a huge comeback from their previous meet by breaking four gym records, scoring 42 nines and setting lots of personal records.

The MGs also had several gymnasts meet the qualifying all-around score of 35.0 to move to the next level.

The teams were attended by coaches Bria Blakely, Wendy Scites, Dawn Harvell and Pat Murphy-Meier.

The meet started off with the level 3s. The Level 3s placed second as a team with a score of 108.85, which is an average score of 9.075.

The level 3s had a total of 10 nines as a team.

Ashlyn Faucett led her team for the day by contributing to the team score on three out of four events. She had three personal bests and received first place honors in the all-around with a high score of 36.25. Faucett’s highest score of the day was a 9.35, which she received on floor. Her 9.35 on floor landed her a first place finish.

The second highest scoring level 3 was Bethany Holman. Holman contributed to the team score on 3 out of 4 events and tied for second in the all-around with a score of 36.075. She placed first on bars with a score of 9.15. Holman’s highest score of the meet was a 9.275, which she received on floor also was a 1st place finish.

 Caylee Harrison had personal bests on beam and all-around. She contributed to the team score on beam and also received first place honors on that event. Harrison placed first in the all-around with a score of 35.9.

Madison Faircloth counted for the team score on vault and bars. She received personal bests on bars and in the all-around. Faircloth placed first on bars with a score of 8.975. Her highest score of the meet was a 9.1, which she received a 2nd on vault.

Anabele Gonzales had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. She placed third in the all-around with a score of 34.55. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.85, which was on floor also placed 3rd.

Nyla Thompson contributed to the team score on beam with a score of 8.8, which landed her a first place finish. She also had a personal best on beam. Thompson’s highest score of the meet was an 8.9 which was received on vault.

Tatum Salter placed first on floor with a score of 9.025. She contributed to the team score on vault and floor. Salter had personal bests on bars and floor. Her highest score of the day was a 9.1, which she received 1st on vault.

Christina Cox had a personal best on beam with a score of 8.55. She placed third in the all-around with a score of 33.8. Cox’s highest score of the meet was an 8.95, which was received 2nd on vault.

Brooklyn James tied for third on beam with a score of 8.55. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.55, which she received on vault and beam.

Ellery McBryde had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.8, which she received on vault.

 Eva Kirbo had personal bests on beam and in the all-around. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.8, which she received on vault.

Paige Burnette had a personal best on floor and placed third on vault with a score of 8.95.

Alexus Cravey was our final competitor for level 3. She received personal bests on vault and beam. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.7, which was received on vault.

Morganie Leroux was unable to attend.

“This team is practicing with the mind set of how do I reach my goal.  A score of 35.00 all- around is needed twice set by the MG coaches to move to the next level. Three of the girls made it at this meet,” said Coach Murphy-Meier. “Caylee Harrison and Ashlyn Faucett will be promoted to level 4.”

The level 2s competed in the next session and placed first as a team with a high score of 110.90, which is an average score of 9.2.

 The level 2 had a total of 22 nines as a team.

Jacey Williams led her team to victory by placing first in the all-around with a high score of 37.175. She broke 3 team records on bars, beam, and all-around for level 2. Williams contributed to the team score on 3 events and placed first on bars with a score of 9.4. She also placed first on beam with a score of 9.625, which was her highest score of the meet. Williams received personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around.

Emily Lampman was the second highest scoring level 2 of the day. She had personal bests on all 4 events and in the all-around. She placed first on beam with a score of 9.4. Her 9.4 also contributed toward the team score. Lampman placed first in the all-around with a score of 36.375. Lampman had the MG beam record for a few minutes, until her teammate Jacey took it away.

 Jaylee Williams trailed right behind Lampman. Williams had personal bests on all 4 events and in the all-around. She placed first on vault and bars with a score of 9.05. Williams placed first in the all-around with a score of 36.325. She was also the only level 2 to received 9’s on all 4 events.

Jamiah Bentley placed second in the all-around with a score of 35.975. She had personal bests on floor and in the all-around. Bentley placed first on floor with a score of 9.275, which also contributed to the team score.

Lathan Brown received personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. She placed first on bars with a score of 9.25, which also counted toward the team score. Brown placed first in the all-around with a score of 35.825.

 Yessi Dragustinovis was a level 2 who competed for the first time. She contributed toward the team score on vault and floor. She placed second on floor with a score of 9.1. Her highest score of the meet was a 9.15, which she received on beam. Dragustinovis placed third in the all-around with a score of 35.575.

Sara Cooper had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. She placed first on vault with a score of 9.15, which also counted toward the team score. Cooper placed second in the all-around with a score of 35.375.

 Tallon Exum had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. Her highest score of the meet was a 9.05, which she received on beam.

Becca Clayton had personal bests on beam, floor and in the all-around. She placed first on beam with a score of 9.3. Her 9.3 also counted toward the team score. Clayton placed second in the all-around with a score of 34.925.

Ashley Strange had personal bests on all 4 events and in the all-around. She placed second on beam with a score of 9.2, which was her highest score of the meet. Strange placed third in the all-around with a score of 34.775.

Kenlee Dalton had personal bests on all 4 events and in the all-around. Her highest score of the meet was a 9.025, which she received on beam.

Ansley Key had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. She placed third on bars with a score of 8.575. Her highest score of the meet was a 9.0, which she received on beam.

Ellie Ladson had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.775, which was received on beam.

Julianne Thompson received personal bests on bars, floor, and in the all-around. She was the runner-up on floor with a score of 8.65, which was her highest score of the meet. Thompson placed third in the all-around with a score of 33.675.

Savana Mackie was our final competitor for the level 2s. She had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. She placed third on beam with a score of 8.425, which was her highest score of the meet. Mackie also placed third on bars with a score of 8.35.

“The level 2’s blew me away with their beam routines at this meet,’’ Said coach Blakely, “I can tell that they are really getting the hang of how to compete.”

“I was really impressed by their form on bars,” said coach Scites, “I was really proud that a lot of the girls performed their skills without a spot.”

The level 4 competed in the final session of the day and placed first as a team with a score of 108.425, which is an average score of 9.0. The level 4’s had a total of 10 nines as a group.

Neya Herndon led her team to the top by breaking the level 4 floor record. She contributed to the team score on 3 events and received personal bests on beam and floor. Herndon placed first in the all-around with a score of 36.025.

Ivey Cooper was the second highest scoring level 4 for the day. She had personal bests on bars, beam, and in the all-around. She contributed to the team score on vault and bars. She placed first on bars with a score of 9.3. Cooper was the runner-up in the all-around with a score of 35.4.

Seaven Shorter had personal bests on 3 events and in the all-around. She contributed to the team score on beam with a 9.2, which landed her a second placed finish. Shorter tied for second in the all-around with a score of 35.05.

Jaiden Lane had a personal best on bars with a score of 9.2, which landed her a first place finish. Her 9.2 was also her highest score of the meet. Lane placed third in the all-around with a score of 34.775.

Shannon Icard is a new MG who joined the team in October. She competed compulsory for the first time at this meet. She contributed to the team score on vault and floor. Icard placed second on floor with a score of 9.1, which was her highest of the meet. She also was the runner-up in the all-around with a score of 34.25.

Tayte Braswell had personal bests on bars, beam, and in the all-around. She placed second on beam with a score of 8.9, which was her highest score of the meet. Braswell placed third in the all-around with a score of 33.95. Hayley Hamm had personal bests on bars, beam, and in the all-around. She placed third on beam with a score of 8.75, which was her highest score of the meet.

Tyliyah Smith had personal bests on bars, floor, and in the all-around. She counted for the team score on floor with a score of 9.35, which landed her a first place finish. She had the owned the MG floor record for a short time before her teammate took it from her. Smith placed third in the all-around with a score of 33.6.

Mackenzie Smith had personal bests on beam and in the all-around. She received a 9.0 on beam, which contributed to the team score and was her highest score of the meet.

Gracie White competed level 4 for the first time on Saturday. She placed second on bars with a score of 8.45. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.75, which she received on floor. White placed third in the all-around with a score of 33.55.

Addie Hamner placed first on beam with a score of 9.05. Her 9.05 contributed toward the team score and was her highest score of the meet.

Marlie Daniels had personal bests on bars and in the all-around. Her highest score of the meet was an 8.475, which she received on beam.

“The girls are really starting to make their bars more fluent and they are beginning to connect their skills,” said coach Harvell.

“Their scores are improving and we had 3 girls get first place on this event.”

The MGs next meet will be the Outlaw invite hosted by the Albany YMCA in January.
