Parker commits to play softball at East Georgia

Colquitt County senior Maggie Rae Parker celebrated with family, friends, coaches and teammates on Wednesday as she committed to play softball at East Georgia College in Swainsboro. She started all 30 games in right field for the 18-12 Lady Packers last fall. 'She is the ideal coaches' player,' head coach Chance Pitts said. 'We never had an issue, on or off the field. I appreciate her being a leader and for all she has done for our program. She'll always be special here and I'm looking forward to seeing the great things she will do in the future.' At East Georgia, she will join former Lady Packers teammate Sarah Harrell on the school's softball team.
