“We have worked hard this summer and this was a good test for us,” said coach Kevin Sumner. “Many of our kids have been to camp and it was nice to see them use what they've learned.

The tournament was the first of the summer fo the team and it was the first time the Mat Hawgs have wrestled out of state.

“They had some great kids and its always nice to see how we compete out of state,” Sumner said. “Our kids are begining to wrestle with more confidence and that is what you like to see.”

The Mat Hawgs are expected to wrestle in Kingsland on Saturday.

“We have wrestled in the Camden County area many times before,” Sumner said.

“They have a great program. It will be a great competition for our team.”
