Neither the Colquitt County middle school boys team nor the girls team was able to win at singles and dropped a pair of matches to Tift County on Monday at the Lynda Moseley Tennis Complex.

With the two 2-3 losses, the middle girls and boys teams fall to 4-1.

The Lady Packers No. 1 singles player Laura Lee Murphy fell 2-6, 3-6; Sydney Wheeler at No. 2 singles lost 4-6, 3-6; and Beylee Roberts at No. 3 singles, fell 3-6, 5-7.

The Colquitt girls was both of their doubles matches.

Caris Ruis and Amanda Hosey at No. 1 won 6-3, 6-3, and Mary Grace Watson and Hannah Holston won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2.

Tift County also won all three extra doubles matches with Hannah Holston and Kathryn Faison falling 4-5; Logan Redmond ans Madelyn Burley losing 4-6; and Anna Beth Elliott and Payton Moore falling 4-6.

The Colquitt County boys also dropped all three singles matches with No. 1 Kevin Johnson falling 4-6, 5-7; No. 2 Alyn Herndon losing 3-6, 4-6; and No. 3 Christopher Rogers losing 2-6, 4-6.

The Packers doubles team took both matches with Hayden Holloway and Nathan Corley winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 and John Herndon and J.D. Rice winning 6-4, 6-4.

In extra matches, Lucas Tostenson and Albert Stringer lost 1-6; Slater Stringer and George Jacobs won 6-2; and Noah Whitaker and Mitchell Riley won 6-3.
